This is Palompon’s paradise. Kalanggaman is considered the most beautiful beach the province of Leyte has to offer. The postcard-perfect virgin island with its powder white sand, clear waters, and cool breeze is certainly a virtual place very close to heaven.
What makes this island unique from others is its long sandbars that are stretching on both sides of the island. The one hour boat ride to the island may be a bit challenging bur it is all worth it when you finally set foot on this paradise. If you want to forget your troubles for a day or if you want to have a quick getaway with your loved ones, Kalanggaman is definitely the place to go. – www.palompon-leyte.gov.ph
Kalanggaman Island, One of the many islands in the Philippines, with the whitest sand you’ve ever seen, surrounded by crystal clear waters. You can read a good book without many people…
Camotes Island is a group of islands in the Camotes Sea, Philippines. The island group is located east of Cebu Island, southwest of Leyte Island, and north of Bohol Island. It is 34 nautical miles (63 km; 39 mi) from Cebu City and is part of the province of Cebu. Sometimes known as the “Lost Horizon of the south”, within recent years Camotes has seen increased visitors and tourism and a growing expatriate community. Apart from natural attractions on land, there is also a score of dive sites around the islands. Also in the Camotes Islands you can find tourist spots such as Buho Rock, Greenlake Park, Mt. Calvary (Kalbaryo), Lake Danao and the vast mangrove swamp along the sides of the road from Pacijan (San Francisco) to Poro. There are many underground caves such as Bukilat Cave, Timubo Cave and Guadalupe Cave which has a fresh water underground lake…

A thank you note for someone dear from someone awesome. With overflowing love, admiration, and pocket full of hope for better 2018…
Before this year ends for me in this part of the world, I just wanna say thank you for coming into my life. In a very short time you manage to creep into my heart, and stay in it, which made you a vital part of my life. I may have known you for just over a month but it seems like I’ve known you my whole life. And each day that we’re apart is like years to me. How could time be so fast when we were together, and move too slow when we’re apart. I miss you so much, it hurts. I miss the comfort of your hugs that feels like home. I miss the taste of your lips when it touches mine. I miss your gentle touch, your soft skin. I miss the sound of your laugh, and the happiness it makes me feel when Im the reason of it. I miss staring into your eyes and seeing my future in it. But what I miss most is the me when I’m with you, and the moments when we were together.
I can still remember the first time I laid my eyes on you, how you look so pretty even when you were so sweaty. I remember how I was dumbfounded when I heard your voice. I remember feeling awful when you told me any normal person would wait for someone at the door rather than sitting comfortably inside, I remember laughing at you when you talked how you walked to and fro just to look for the cafe. I remember acting so composed while deep inside i felt so worried if you would like me too. I remember the first time I touched your arms when we were walking making it so subtle not to make you uncomfortable. I remember the first laugh we shared over the word “subjack”. I remember how anxious I was while playing pool with you. I remember our time at the bar. I remember how I tried so hard not to kiss you, but gave in eventually. I remember our first night at the hotel, and how embarrassed i was morning after for bring you into that hotel but dont regret doing it. I remember our laughs in Bohol, our first ride, our story telling under the shed whilst waiting for the rain to stop. I remember every moment together like it was facking yesterday. I fucking miss US, and although we are apart right now, the thought of us seeing each other this 2018 keeps me hoping for even bigger year for us. So please lets be strong together, we will be fine. We should be fine. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for being the highlight of my 2017. I love you so much, 2018 gonna be better.
So much to be thankful for the year that has been and a lot to look forward to for 2018, it’s going to be epic.

You came out of the blue
Now I am stuck like glue.
You make me smile unconsciously,
Now my feelings is growing unstoppably.
You give me reason to look forward to tomorrow,
It seems like my heart is stricken with an arrow.
At times I don’t know what to say,
All I know is I want you to stay.
Your voice gives me natural high,
And all I can do is sigh.
You make my mind go wander,
And often times I wonder.
How could you make my heart leap,
Even when you’re soundly asleep.
And be so pretty with your chubby cheeks,
And your lovely smile that’s so meek.
Now I don’t have control over things,
Causing my mind to overthink.
My heart is saying linger to the feeling,
But my head’s telling me destruction is where I’m heading.

Just another one of those trips I do during rest days, only its not really ordinary because this time it involved a certain somebody whose name I wont mention in this entire article. So I don’t normally do unplanned trips, don’t even do the famous destination cause of the fact that well, there will be definitely a lot of tourist. But this trip is a special one, and yes I am breaking mostly all my travel rules for this, but who cares really? Surely not me.
So as per usual, there I was on a Sunday morning rushing to prepare my things up, didn’t even have any list of stuff to bring just put anything that I can get my hands on into my backpack. couple of clothes, necessities, speaker, notepad. Arggh this kinda is frustrating I really don’t know on what to expect. Truly not my usual trip. No plan. No place to stay. Basically, plain nothing. One thing is for sure, this trip gonna push through no matter what.
So mid morning I am done with everything, took my backpack and off I go. I tried to act so composed as I get on a cab and to the port I am heading. This probably is not my day, didn’t really have any idea on what time ferries depart from the port or to which part of Bohol is the most economical way to go. So I got there, bought ticket for the next ferry that departs to Tubigon port but its not until 1:15pm ( have to wait 2 hours, how shitty that is).
Finally after anxiously sitting inside the port for 2 hours, my trip was being called and it’d be roughly 1 hour 30 minutes to get to Tubigon and from there I had to get on a van to get me to Tagbilaran City where my friend is going to pick me up. That’s a total of 2 hours 30 minutes travel time (just great). And yeah, got there safely now in a cafe sipping on my coffee trying to book a room to this place where my friend is also renting, lucky found some really good deal on Booking.com, the price was okay and it was really last minute booking , I need to have a place to stay. Not to mention it is where she is staying so it was just perfect.
There goes my friend, picking me up yay! finally, someone to cheer me up. Minutes later I am driving the bike, my friend with some awesome navigating skills riding at my back. Trying to find our way to back Panglao which is apparently 30 minutes ride. Wind touching my skin on an early Sunday evening bike ride in Bohol, running on 70Kph I thought to myself ( this is going to be an epic adventure). The ride was pretty far, but couldn’t complain though it was fun. I checked in, got the keys settled in my room this is going to be a really memorable one! it has to be. It needs to be.
To be continued…
So after 4 days,4 nights stay in Panglao I am definitely sure of one thing. It was a life changing trip. I didn’t see it coming, it was both crazy good and crazy bad. If could change anything would definitely change the crazy bad, I’m not the type of person who regrets anything but this one’s different. And if I can turn back the hands of time, I would rather not experience this as long as everything is back to normal. I rather not done any of if, only because as much as I love the high that it gave me, its nothing compares to the guilt, to the frustration, to the anger, to all other negative feelings I am having right now all rolled into one.

Do you have any idea how much I love you? I bet you don’t because while I was busy loving you, you were silently still loving her.
I was stupid, was blinded by the strong emotion I felt for you. I was once again DOOMED! But it was okay, cause I was hopeful and hope springs eternal they say. I hoped my effort will eventually pay off, but it didn’t. Cause at the end, you chose her and you left me broken. It was devastating, it ruined me. I thought I have mastered the art of moving on but I was wrong. The heartache seemed vaguely familiar and again I started my healing process. In every process, there are certain stages you have to go through and they are always hard and draining. The pain was excruciating, it was as if my heart was stabbed over and over again. The hurt demanded my attention it wrapped my whole being for months, it sucked the life out of me.
My stubborn self just won’t stop, months passed but I would still find myself wishing for you to come back, but to no avail, because you love her. And when it’s the love you don’t have any control over it, I can’t blame you I can only blame myself. I used to stay up all night and just stare blankly at the ceiling wondering what could have been but I’m done with it now. Done with denial, anger, bargaining, depression and I am down to my last stage, acceptance.
Truth be told sometimes I’d rather sleep than stay awake, cause in my dreams there’s still ME and YOU. In my dreams, I am your one and only, not just the third party. There, I see your smiles that are only meant for me. There, I can still feel your touch, fingers intertwined, and your warm lips on mine. But now on heavy heart, I must let go, so I can finally be set free from the prison cell that I put myself into when I started loving you. Now what is left of me is the memories of what used to be and what it taught me.
For the ME that loves YOU, I will wait for the day when your scent wears off when the bruise heals, and my shattered heart starts to beat again.
And for the YOU who loves HER, be happy because that is what I’ve always wanted you to be, even if it’s not with me.
I normally get involve in a pre-planned, open-invite group travels. Not because I have no one to go and travel with but because it allowed me to meet new people and make new friends. It allowed me to listen to new life stories and struggles. It gave me a sense of belongingness. Being with a group of people who doesn’t know who I am, gave me that strong feeling of starting a fresh. Like I can be a different person, a better version of myself.
LaManoc island on the background
During my most recent travel, my wandering feet and my curious self led me to Carnaza Island, honestly I did not put any attention when I was invited by my friend – Dilon about this Island, in fact it was the first time I heard about it. Only when I started researching and reading blogs about it did I know that Carnaza Island is part of Daan Bantayan in the north. My curiosity grew even bigger when I saw how picturesque the island was with its beautiful landscape and turquoise clear water.
Undeniably Carnaza is a lovely island that is yet to be famous

Oct 29, 2017 – right after my night shift, I went straight to our meeting place. And there my fellow dream chasers awaits. We were strangers but we had a common purpose and that was enough to for us to be comfortable with each other. In that 3-hour road trip to the north of Cebu, no one started any conversation, we hardly even look at each other. But the silence was perfect only because it was still dawn. The the morning came and we finally arrived to our first stop, Tapilon port where we embarked into a boat to our final destination – Carnaza Island .
Every where you look, you’ll find a picture perfect view
So there we were, 15 people oozing with excitement. At this point we were already feeling a little bit more at ease with each, made some small talks, took some photos, all excited to talk about our expectations about the journey in hand. Hours past and we can finally see the white sand from afar, the island did not disappoint it surely have an amazing landscape.
As soon as the boat dropped its anchor, I thought to myself, I had to get this place dissected. I wasn’t able to contain myself, I had to explore the place. The view was breath taking, the clear blue water seemed so inviting, but dipping in the water was not part of the plan for this quick stop. With much eagerness I quickly disembarked from the boat and looked for a perfect spots to take photos of the landscape. It was amazing, the cliffs and the stone formation near the shore added more magic to the place, it was pure heaven.
I was able to find a small cave opening in one side of the mountain in the island and it was a perfect spot to take photos. I indulged myself for a bit to appreciate the beauty in front me and then moved forward to where my fellow travelers were. They were busy taking pictures of themselves, on top of the a small mountain overlooking the twin beach where a small fishing village resides. No wonder my fellow traveler hurried to this spot, it has a 360 view of the beach as well as the open water. And it was breathtaking, I took some awful lot time just exploring the mountain top. The cliffs were so jaw-dropping, as if it was enticing me to jump off to the turquoise water.
Anyhow, I had this fellow traveler whom I partnered with so someone can take pictures of me and vice versa, and we just clicked. We explored the rest of the mountain together and took some cool picture of each other, he completed my travel essentials list – Photo buddy🙂.
The water so inviting, the sky so blue
In the scorching heat of the sun, we finally decided to head back to the boat. We lost track of time, all the other travelers were already waiting for us when we got there. As soon as we settled in the boat, the boatmen then maneuvered the boat to our campsite, Kang Elena Cove. It took us approximately 15 minutes to get there. The cove was a perfect location for a campsite. There were no houses nearby, there were newly built boats on works for paint jobs though, but aside from that the cove was literally isolated. Its as if we owned the entire cove. As soon as I touched my feet on the sand I wasted no time, I hurriedly looked for a suitable place tie my hammock and pitch my tent.
The view so invitinng I can’t help but take a picture of it
Moments passed and each of us was already settled in our private space, and then lunch time came. My friend, who’s the leader of this little venture already contacted someone from the island to prepare seafoods for our lunch. They prepared crabs for us, back in Twin Beach, we bumped into a local fisherman with fresh caught squid. We bought all of them and our boatmen grilled them in the cove. Some of the travelers brought some food for lunch as well, and I must say it was a sumptuous lunch. At this point, we were getting more and more at ease with each other. As time passed we learned more things about each other. We discovered we had lots of stuff in common. We didn’t even care how long we were sitting there – eating, all we know is that its was fun sharing the food with these 15 strangers, and definitely fun knowing them little by little.
Sea foods bonanza
Boodle fight ala Carnaza island
Afternoon came and we were all full, feeling lazy to do anything I laid in my hammock, and just enjoyed the moment. Some of my fellow traveler needed to go to the cemetery for some paint job for Dilon’s deceased friend’s wake. I opted to stay in the campsite with some other people. With nothing else to do we decided to start socializing, hence libation. So there we were (8 not so strangers anymore) in the grass squatting, sharing life stories while drinks on hand. It’s always my favorite part, learning life experiences, struggles and successes. There’s not a single moment in my life when I feel bored socializing, it’s always fun. The days still young, all 8 of us already tipsy but full of life. The time seemed too slow in this part of the world, I swear to God the time seemed three times slower not that we were complaining though.
Hammock by the beach is always the dream life. Time seems so slow, living the dream.
Sunset finally came and we transferred to the beach front, all of us under influence of alcohol but all aware of the beautiful sunset. We stared blankly at the sunset as it changed the colors of the sky, it was a pure bliss. One of the most beautiful sunset I ever witnessed in my existence. And then night came and it was all darkness in the cove, but we didn’t mind, we know this was what we signed up for. The rest of the group finally came back and joined us at the beach, we then made bonfire to keep us warm while we continued sharing stories. The bigger the group, the more fun it became. We ate dinner in darkness with only a few flashlights, the dinner was uneventful.
Libation ended at 11pm, but that’s after we put our speaker on high volume and sang our hearts out along with the music. One of us even started dancing her signature crab dance😂. It was pure fun! When the rest of them settled in their tents, we opted to stay behind and enjoyed the warmth of the evening water, gazed into the star-filled sky, spent another hour there and then finally settled in my hammock.
enjoying the sunset with a joyful heart
I laid in my hammock underneath the sea of stars, it was heaven on earth. I laid there while staring at the sky contemplating of the day that has been. Spending the entire day in the island with all these random people was amazing, people with the same mindset as mine. People who, like me – just wanna have a good time. And in that one day, I felt closer to them even more than with the people I encountered on a daily basis. Its both weird and amazing how you can be so at ease with people you just met less than 24 hours ago. It must be because we shared the same passion for traveling.
Morning after a long night drinking sessions is always the worst, but to wake up to this view. It brings positive vibration.
Mornings are the best during camping, everybody’s busy with morning chores prepping food and stuff. And of course early morning dip. Right after we ate our breakfast, all of us started heading to the beach and enjoyed our remaining hours in the cove. There’s never a dull moment when you’re with your fellow crazies. Any moment somebody would crack a joke and even if it’s not that hilarious hearing people laugh would make you laugh out loud as well. Our final day begun just like that.
Another hour came and we finally left the cove and it was rather a rough ride to our next stop, LaManoc Island. Approximately 45 minutes boat right to this beautiful island. At this point, we were all excited for yet another paradise, as if we hadn’t spent the last 24 hours devouring Kang Elena cove. To our defense though, the island is pretty awesome it has this beautiful landscape and picturesque surroundings. It has this long white sandbar that connects two island together allowing us to explore the other adjacent island. It was perfect, the sun was on its peak, the water so clear and I can’t get enough of the of the picture-perfect white sandbar. In that island, 15 souls lost themselves. 15 wanderers was enchanted by the beauty, that was LaManoc Island. 15 strangers turned friends made and left memories nobody can take away from us.
And just like that, we ended our 2-day trip to Carnaza. At the end of that trip I can only say 2 things as conclusions; 1) We went there as 15 complete strangers, we went our separate ways as friends 2) We will definitely find our way back to Carnaza Island, it may not be together but for sure that trip won’t be the last time I’ll be seeing the island. LaManoc island is exceptional, there is something about the island that kept our wanderlust burning. It kept us thinking of more travels to come.

Yes, Sunday finally! That just means one thing – rest day, and it is intended for travels and adventures. And so there I was sitting in my cubicle so anxious as I waited for my cue. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Why does the time seemed so slow? Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. I was getting impatient by the minute, TIME UP! 5am- logged out and off I go.
With a spirit full of anticipation, I hurried home to pick up my travel necessities. Bag on my back, a big smile on my face, my expectation getting higher as I draw nearer to the bus terminal. My travel buddy for this adventure already waiting for me, travel-ready as well – Dilon of Chasing Wonders Ph.
[captioid= Both excited for the day ahead of us, 1 hour and 30 minutes bus ride and we’re there[/caption]
1st Stop – Bagatayam Falls
Just a few minutes from where we got off from the bus, there lies the Bagatayam Falls, named after the baranggay where it is located the falls is just about 5minutes away from the highway making it very accessible to people. And there I was sitting in the moss-covered rock, in awed of the beauty of nature. Sit there in silence just killing time. After literally spending a very short tine at the falls, we then move on to out next destination.
2nd Stop – Binaliw Spring
Located in the northern part of Cebu, there lies a spring believed to have miraculous healing water. And although I’am not a believer but it indeed made me curious as to what really is the reason for this particular destination to be getting better visitor rate. Binaliw spring is a shallow spring in the heart of baranggay Bagatayam,
Many rumors have it that the water oozing out from the mouth of the falls (used to be) has an extraordinary ‘healing powers’.
The site attracts many visitors from various places in the province and other regions for various reasons: to enjoy the cold spring water or to get healed from some form of illnesses.
Anyhow, in this page we can only talk more about the spring’s natural beauty and its surrounding nature and not so much about its extraordinary ‘healing effects’.

One of the most popular island of Bohol is Cabilao Island, It is located in the western portion of the main island and along Cebu Strait. It is one of the smaller Philippine Islands, and approximately 8 square kilometers where a peaceful community lives. What is more facinitating about this island is actually lies beneath it. It is famous for its marine sanctuary, with its steep wall of coral reefs that has been a habitat for several marine species.
Couple of friends and I embarked to yet again another summer escapade to this amazing island, and by that I meant; a day in the sea, crystal clear water, unlimited sun bathing and of course close contact with fishes and some other sea creature.
Can’t take my eyes off the viewAll set for the underworld (disclaimer: this is not mine😪😖😫)

Finally! I was able to ticked scuba diving off my bucket list, and I loved every single minute of it. I loved it so much that I decided to work on being certified as an open water scuba diver (work in progress).
And so in the next couple of weeks (or months) depending on my availability, I will be doing a series of diving sessions and I can’t hide my excitement 😜. Ticking off scuba diving is one thing, but getting certified is just a whole lot more.
I felt so close with nature
I’m finally done with all my scuba diving sessions and now I can proudly say I am a licensed scuba diver, it was a pretty fast process but every minute of it is very memorable. After six scuba diving sessions, I was able to cover all the necessary lessons and skills needed to get certified. I do admit though that I still need constant diving sessions for me to be able to really be comfortable being in the underwater world and pretty excited for the next coming scuba diving the in future.
Island living – being born in Cebu is surprisingly a very big advantage for me at this point, nearest diving spot is just an hour away and recently it had became one of my favorite hangout place. I am becoming more and more in love with scuba diving and now I am embracing the fact that I am in the truest meaning, an island girl.
