Memories From The Past : Digging Up Year 2011

I was checking my Facebook account when I came across a button that says “Notes”, I can vaguely remember what it’s about and so I clicked it and was surprised to know the content of that page. It was actually some sort of Journal back in college. And today I am publishing one entry from that page entitled ” A Year That Was 2011″.

It’s 2011 baby – Just like every other year, it started with a new year’s celebration. It’s the only occasion my whole family actually celebrate at home (with lots of foods and fireworks), Only yearly occasion my parents and brother would allocate budget and we get to bond like every other families. And it’s always a memorable one, It’s always a good way to start another year. Two weeks after was the celebration Sinulog. It is a yearly celebration in Cebu, Philippines. Where you get to see colorful floats, 9 days Novena mass at Basilica del Sto. Niño. Parties at every street corners, Experience the street dancing and street concerts. And the Mardigras on its final day.

February – month of hearts – for some but not for me. I was more than excited for the National Olympics, February 17-25, I represented my school for the Lawn tennis women’s category together with my 4 other teammates. It was held in Ilagan, Isabela, Philippines. It was a dream come true, I meet new friends, Experienced new things, got to Flunk school and get away with it, and at the end of that trip, lessons learned.

March 25 – Graduation ceremony Finally, I graduated from my 5yrs course Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I was recognized as the Ambassador for sports – Lawn tennis women. All the hardwork, stress days, sleepless nights, patience, worries and tears. All paid off with degree and diploma in my hand. I know my parents are proud of me.

May – Started my first real job But not in the field I wish I’d land into. Nevertheless, got my first salary, Lived independently, Meet new friends/colleagues (cool people), learned many things, got to present in a room full of political people, people never in my life I dreamt on discussing something with. I went out of my comfort zone and embraced the real world. The world of employment, Where mean people are in abundance.. *laughs* In a more serious note, it introduced me to reality. To the pros and cons of life, to fresh experience, with fresh faces, Same old me but more mature.

Then I had to cut my employment days short.. “RESIGNED from my job” Got to focus on my review for the licensure exam for mechanical engineer. Back to the good old me, sleepless nights, allowances, house rents, problem solving, stresses, anxieties, excitement..

For four months I strive hard, sleepless months studying, memorization, stress, anxieties, but at the end of it, i all my sacrifices, all I’ve ever hoped for, the biggest goal I’ve ever had, and I failed. But looking on the brighter side, I gained lots of new friends. People I never expected I’ll get along with, people who touched my heart one way or another. New experience, new faces, new places. Lessons learned: you can’t always get what you want. But you’ll get what you deserve, and after every downfall, you will always learn to pick yourself up.

It was late October I finally decided to let go of the love I had for someone. finally tried to move on. And finally put what we had to my past. If I have any consolation, when we were together I felt I was very wanted. I was cared, I was liked. Only it didn’t end up the way i like it to be. For a while I was hoping things will be fine but then it didn’t. And I had to deal with it. And I did great. I was hurt, but it doesn’t mean I was broken. I’m tough, and I don’t break that easy.

November- started looking for a job Realized how hard it is to do so.. Allowance & energy draining:-(

December- holiday season The month went quickly, Next thing i know it’s christmas eve.Celebrated it with family, foods, Bonding, Movie marathon, fun.fun.fun. Then came 26th, get together with high school batchmates. And just like old times, t’was fun. like good old days.

A year that was 2011… Collection of new experience. Happy memories as well as sad, new friends, realizations. And learnings… At the end of 2011, i’ll leave a qoute that goes…

“It’s not the prize nor the score. It’s not the fame, nor the win. It’s never the glory or people’s cheer. It’s not even how far or how fast you are. Life is a race and we should run. But in the end what matters most is WHO YOU ARE & WHO YOU BECOME”

Spread positivity.:-)

Having read my “2011 Highlights” I realize how far I have gone since that year, although I still have failures and challenges along the way I know I can make it through.

Camotes With Love : White Sand Paradise in the Southern Philippines

Created a new YouTube channel for my travel videos – Girls On Global Adventures , Check it out! I post new videos weekly. I am currently traveling through Southeast Asia.

Camotes Island is a group of islands in the Camotes Sea, Philippines. The island group is located east of Cebu Island, southwest of Leyte Island, and north of Bohol Island. It is 34 nautical miles (63 km; 39 mi) from Cebu City and is part of the province of Cebu. Sometimes known as the “Lost Horizon of the south”, within recent years Camotes has seen increased visitors and tourism and a growing expatriate community. Apart from natural attractions on land, there is also a score of dive sites around the islands.
Also in the Camotes Islands you can find tourist spots such as Buho Rock, Greenlake Park, Mt. Calvary (Kalbaryo), Lake Danao and the vast mangrove swamp along the sides of the road from Pacijan (San Francisco) to Poro. There are many underground caves such as Bukilat Cave, Timubo Cave and Guadalupe Cave which has a fresh water underground lake. There are also two waterfalls, one in Poro and one in Tudela. There is diving and snorkeling opportunities at some of the resorts.  Camotes Resorts List click link for list.

You can check out Lonely Planet (Philippines) for guides and suggestion on how to go to Camotes Island.

April of 2013 was when I had the chance to visit Camotes Island together with my two closest friends in the world ; Yami and Nikki. We took a leave from our jobs just so we can celebrate Yami’s 24th birthday and share the moment with her. Let me take you down to memory lane, and reminisce the memories in Camotes With Love : White Sand Paradise In The Southern Philippines.

2015/01/img_3970.jpg

A surprise for a close friend
Midnight of the 12th of April 2013 (Friday) Nikki and I were on our way to surprise Yami after her evening shift at a hospital where she worked as a nurse. We brought her a cute little cake together with our gifts and party balloons, she was indeed surprised. I am pretty sure that was one of her most memorable birthday celebration ever. Although we just stayed at a local pizza house and just ordered pizza, it really didn’t matter that time – we were caught up with the occasion. We waited for our other friend Mariane and then we just ate pizza right after. It was around 1am when we decided to part ways with Mariane, Nikki and Yami are staying at my place we still need to travel to Camotes Island  that dawn.

The dawn of the gateway
As expected we woke up late, we were supposed to wake up 3am so we can take the first bus trip to Danao City but we woke up at 4am. We were all cramming, worried we might get left by the barge to Camotes Island . We arrived in the bus terminal around 5am, we took the first bus available even though it was the ordinary one. The bus ride was about an hour and twenty five minutes by the time we arrived in the port, the barge that we supposed to get into already left (bugger). The next trip was not until 8am, we were disappointed, famished, and very sleepy. Nice way to start our getaway – Frustrated.
Finally, at around quarter to 8, we were asked to board in the barge, two and half hour after we were to dock at Camotes port.

2015/01/img_4309.jpg

It’s Camotes Island  Baby – Beach Getaway
Upon arrival we were all ecstatic and excited for our beach getaway,we completely buried our previous frustrations. Our stay was kind of limited since we only get one day to enjoy the island. We have to be back to the city a day after, Yami got to work while me and Nikki will hang out for the entire weekend. And so we hired 2 sets of motorcycle and went directly to the resort where I reserved a deluxe room at Agoda (Global) for us, at the Santiago Bay Garden & Resort
The motor ride was about twenty minutes, we couldn’t contain our excitement in the extent that we keep on talking about our plan for the entire trip. And that’s a very short trip. Upon arrival we went straight to the receptionist, they were bit busy a group of Koreans were trying to check in to their respective rooms as well and it took a lot of time due to communication struggle. But finally after 15 minutes or so we were able to get our key and was assigned to a room over-looking the sea and it was breath-taking!

2015/01/img_3954.jpg

It was a view worth appreciating for. I think what’s refreshing about it was that we don’t usually get to see the blue sky, the sea and the sun all together. We were all trap in a concrete jungle around the city, used to seeing the buildings and the litters all over it. That view was truly a breath of fresh air. Then we settled in our room and decided to take some time off to rest.

2015/01/img_3978.jpg

After taking our much-needed rest, we headed to the beach and savored the moment, that was a perfect getaway to get into. It was Friday, the sun was on its peak, I am with the best people, not to mention it was Yami’s birthday. I must admit though, anywhere we go as long as I’m with these people, it will always be a perfect getaway.

2015/01/img_4308.jpg

After spending our entire afternoon at the beach, by the time we went back to our hotel room we were all worn out, dead tired. With our sun-kissed skin, we then get ready to go outside and look for a cheaper place to eat. We figured foods at the hotel cost more, and we were up for some barbecue by the beach. What I like most about that gate-away was that I was with the people I am most comfortable being with. With them I can be myself, no pretensions. It was 9pm when we finished eating, by then we already finished 3 bottles of beer. We were a bit drunk, but still sober. We even went to the pool right after to dip our stressed muscles into the soothing warm water.

2015/01/img_4310.jpg

Our night was far from getting over, and we intended to enjoy every bit of second we spend in that island. So we open the bottle of tequila we bought at the main-land, sliced some lemon, and a grab some potato chips. We were good to go! We just talked and bonded the entire time, talked about life, experiences. It was a helluva birthday celebration we had in Camotes. The next day, the hangover was excruciating, but we had to move our asses, ate our breakfast at Santiago Bay Garden & Resort, and before noon we were already on our way back to the port. And then back to reality.

Visit Lonely Planet (Philippines) for more suggestions on where to visit for your coming vacation.

10 Signs Of Falling Out Of Love : When Love Fades

Falling in love is the best feeling you could ever imagine, but what if that feeling fades and you’re at the receiving end of that relationship. What would you do? How would you feel? Guess you’ll cross the bridge when that happens, I Supposed. You’re lucky if you can sense in advance what’s about to happen and you can prepare yourself from the inevitable breakup. You can start letting go, start moving on even though it hadn’t even happened yet, it’s just a matter of time. What’s left for you to do is to wait, to when she decide to drop the bomb straight to your face. And then you can cry a river, but know when to stop and start put back together the broken pieces. In the end it’s not how you breakdown that matters, it’s how you get up, broken but stronger. It is always better to be ready to anything that could happen in a relationship, loving someone is a gamble, and you don’t get to win all the time. You have to play your cards right and better play it wise. It’s your emotion that’s at stake, it’s your heart that you bet. Learning how to read between the lines is very essential to every relationship. She’s probably been throwing signs and signals but you’re just too insensitive to notice or may be you’re in denial. For this article I will list down 10 probable signs that she’s falling out of love for you, or did she ever love you?

2015/01/img_4285.jpg1. Sexual activities became slim to none – When two people are in love they share their body, life, and heart with each other. Let’s not be a hypocrite here, it is very essential in every relationship to engage in sexual activities, the fact that it has lessen or worst totally stopped, is a giveaway that there’s something wrong with your relationship.

2015/01/img_4287.jpg2. Facebook status hidden – yeah it’s kinda funny when we talk about fb status, it seemed very childish to make a big deal out of it. But in reality, it is really big a deal. C’mon it’s the new generation people are very updated in social media and the likes. Changing “Relationship status visible to friends” to “Relationship status visible to yourself” is a punch to the face.

2015/01/img_4289.jpg

3. No more I love you, I miss you, and Take Care – vocal expressions of your feelings can make any day brighter and complete, but having someone special and not hearing those three words can bring doubts and endless questions. Or are you puzzled why you always have to say it first and you have to wait for her response. The worst is if she did respond but lacks convection while saying it. Where’s the sincerity in it, where’s the fire that you used to have.

2015/01/img_4291.jpg4. Silly arguments about silly things – sure there’s no perfect relationship and arguments will always have their times, but arguments due to silly reasons is unacceptable. It’s both hilarious and stupid. First time, second time it can be fun, but when you do it more often, it’s exhausting and such waste of time.

2015/01/img_4293.jpg5. Swearing – when your argument takes a notch higher to a point where you start cussing each other, saying expletives words. It causes loss of self-respect and self-esteem.

2015/01/img_4295.jpg6. When cuddling, kisses and good night are long gone – showing affection right before going to sleep is very important to loving couples, it gives them a security and sense of excitement knowing that you’re to wake up the next day with her by your side. But without this, it gives you sleepless nights and may torment you knowing about the possibility of waking up the next day alone and shattered.

2015/01/img_4297-1.jpg7. No text message, not even a missed call – of course outside your relationship you have your own life at work, and sometimes it can be very exhausting that you can’t even eat your meal. A single text message can make a long way though, even just to say you arrived at the office safely or you’re having a break. It is very touching knowing that somewhere, someone is thinking of you and that she cared.

2015/01/img_4299-2.jpg 8. Show no interest in your daily activities – when you go home after work it is necessary to discuss how both you’re day have been, it just shows that your interested to know the things you did the entire day. Without this, it shows that you don’t care and you don’t give a crap on how her day went. You don’t care that much to ask.>br />
2015/01/img_4301-1.jpg9. Forgets special dates – it is a cardinal rule in every relationship to always take note of the occasions and dates that are special to both of you. Forgetting anniversaries and birthdays is very disappointing and hurting, it’s as if you don’t care. People that are very in love with each other always try to make her partner feel special and appreciated.

2015/01/img_4304-0.jpg10. Makes fun of your faults – the worst thing a person can do to her partner is making fun of his faults, and embarrass him in front of other people, specially around friends. Mocking him for the things he cannot / failed to do. Partners suppose to support each other and lean on each other, they should watch each other’s backs.

2015/01/img_4306.jpgIf these things seem familiar to you, You! Yes, you! Make a move, may be it’s not too late to work things out. You should salvage, what is worth salvaging. You’ve invested a lot for your relationship, it’s such a waste if you won’t take the chance, the chance to keep your relationship and make things right. But you should know better the next time, be more sensitive, girls tend to say things they don’t really mean, sometimes you just have to read between the lines. Worse comes to worst, you have to let go. You have to learn to un-love her, bury that feeling 6ft deep. And when you fall in love again, you know better and it is all worth the hurt.

20 Things I Do on Weekends

Lets be honest here, there will always be that day when you got nothing to do and you’re left with that one million dollar question “What should I do now?” Here’s my top 20 list of the things I usually do.

1. Read a novel – you probably want the short one, that kind you can finish reading within three, four hours tops. Comics will do too, you might get interested with the illustrations and other visual information. You can also check out Amazon Ebook for their vast collection of Ebooks.
2015/01/img_4070.jpg

2. Music Trip – just listen to the song you like, sing along every-now-and-then a good way to just let the moment pass. If you’re into those trending Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Get hold of your Jam Plus Bluetooth Speaker, put that Animal and Tsunami on repeat. Or if you’ve been looking for that childhood soundtrack and for some reason couldn’t get hold of any copy you can check Music List, and see if you can find one.

2015/01/img_4072.jpg

3. Movie Marathon – you can choose from your Movie Collection
and just sit there while watching a movie. A documentary will suffice if you’re more into story of some aspect of reality, or for purposes of instruction or maintaining a historical record. And you can even check out those Nicholas Sparks Movies you’ve been stacking for years. Or those hilarious American Pie Movies
series. Either way, it will surely take a lot of your time.

2015/01/img_4074.jpg

4. Watch Your Favorite TV Series – or if you’re probably sick and tired of re-watching your favorite movie, why don’t you move your fingers and search in your files the TV series you’ve saved for the long vacation. It’s probably the best time to watch episode after episode, season after season. Say the all time favorite Friends Series.
who can resist Phoebe Buffay, Rachel Green and the rest of the group. Or you’d rather seeing Queen B and Serena of the Gossip Girl
. Or the highly acclaimed Big Bang Theory, you will surely laugh your *ss out. Personally though, I have a stack of TV series in my   the likes of Prison Break, ArrowBlacklist , Graceland, New Girl, Nikita, RevengeDexter my list can go on & on, I’m a sucker for TV series.

2015/01/img_4075.jpg 5. Window Shopping/ Online Shopping – what better way to let the time pass than going to the mall and window shop, it’s also a very effective way to relieve your stress. Or if you have budget with you, do yourself a favor and buy yourself something fancy. You can also check out some offers at Amazon with huge discounts.

2015/01/img_4119.jpg

6. Write a blog – for those people who have imaginative minds and like to write a lot, you can check out the internet and sign up to a blog site and start publishing your own article. You can draft anything you like, from stories of your life to you dreams. Your imagination is unlimited, it’s up to you how to make it unique as possible.

2015/01/img_4121-0.jpg

7. Read your past journals – If you had lived your earlier years writing in a journal or a diary, it’s probably the best time to read those entries and try to reminisce the feeling of being young. You might be surprise how naive you were before, and laugh at yourself as you realize how silly you were every time you spotted your first crush.

2015/01/img_4123.jpg

8. Dig in your photo albums when – Many people probably would agree how fun it is to look at your photos back when you were that cute, clumsy, and thin little fellow. Seeing how you transform from that lanky girl & boy to a voluptuous sexy woman and sturdy guy. Sometimes, looking at pictures can bring bad memories and makes you remember someone you once loved, but lets focus on happy memories though. (Spread good vibes)

2015/01/img_4124-0.jpg

9. Write a poem – Some people are just born to have that talent of making up poems that can touch people straight to their heart, but their are some that can write beautiful and meaningful poem specially when they are inspired and so in love or they are depress and they need to channel those unsaid words and emotion into a heartfelt literary work of art.

2015/01/img_4127.jpg

10. Try to draw/ sketch / paint – It’s never to late to learn how to draw or to at least try to learn how to draw. So get up, get those paint and water-color, the brushes and the palette, get your hands dirty and bring back the kid in you. Eventually you will realize how fun it is to get yourself dirty and learn at the same time. Some doodling can be fun too.

2015/01/img_4131-0.jpg

11. Good old talk with a friend – Sometimes life can get so messy and all you have left to do is to contact that person you really trust so much. A good old catching up is enough to patch the lost time. Make sure though, you’re not disturbing your friend and that like you they too have some time to spare.

2015/01/img_4134-0.jpg

12. Clean the house – funny thing sometimes, is when you got nothing to do and the boredom brings out the best in you. Like you start cleaning the entire house. From mopping the floor, to cleaning the kitchen sink, or even the bath room floor, doing your laundry, changing the sheets, taking out the garbage. This I think is the most productive way of spending your spare time.

2015/01/img_4136.jpg

13. Food trip – whether you’re alone or you got company, eating will always be fun. Forget the calories, forget the fats. It’s not every day you get to eat and not mind anything at all. Where there is food, there will always be that someone dozing off with full stomach.

2015/01/img_4138.jpg

14. Bar hopping Surely those young spirited people can relate to this, bar hopping is so much fun specially when you’re with your “Bardaka”. Who wouldn’t like going to bars after bars and explore the city. You can also organize a cocktail party at your own place, but that’s too much of a hassle you don’t want spending the day after cleaning your mess.

2015/01/img_4140.jpg

15. Go the mall and play at the Game Zone – good thing about malls is that they offer you awful lot of things to choose from to make you occupied. One in particular is the game zone. Some people are so hooked they even visit the mall . Ow well, good thing about the game zone is that you can interact with other people who have the same interest as you. Although some of the games in the game zone are outdated, it is still a very proper way to spend your free time at.

2015/01/img_4142.jpg

16. Play with your pet – It’s not every that you get to spend a bit longer time with your pet. May it be a cat or dog or what ever it is that you’re fond of, they deserve to have a quality time with you. They spend their entire day waiting for you to go home, it is just right to pamper and spoil them sometimes.

2015/01/img_4144-0.jpg

17. Work-out Easy to say but very hard to carry out. But to those who are really body conscious and cares a lot to their well-being, working out is a very effective way of staying fit by burning unwanted fats, it can also clear your mind causing a positive disposition. You can also watch Work-out Videos while you do your own sweating.

2015/01/img_4146-0.jpg

18. Go to the nearest artificial park/ forest – reunite with nature, listen to the chirping birds, the rustling sound of the tree leaves, fill your lungs with fresh air, release your worries, be one with nature.

2015/01/img_4148.jpg

19. Chat with friends – now that social media is on its peak, why don’t you take advantage of it and reconnect with your friends aboard. Even internet base messaging app is within your reach. Communicating with your close relatives and friends is just a Send button away.

2015/01/img_4150.jpg

20. Rest : Sleep/ Nap – last, but not the least. The most basic form of relaxation I suppose. Everybody deserves a break, they may say, time is very precious to be spent in the comfort of your bed. I say, enjoy! You owe it to your body, to yourself. INDULGE!

2015/01/img_4152.jpg

What ever it is that you decide to do on weekends, just always remember to enjoy yourself. You deserve it, after a long and stressing work week.

Year 2015 : Please Be Good To Me

I’m not much of a New Year’s Resolution type of person, but I do believe that New Year brings us opportunity to start anew, a chance to do what we failed to do from our last year’s list, a new beginning, and a greater opportunity for greater achievements. And so for this year I will make a change and make a list of what I should have done years ago. This will become an outline of what my year 2015 is going to be.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3907.jpg
1. Eat More Healthy Foods – As much as possible, I will try to eat one healthy meal per day and be conscious of my daily food intake. I have noticed for the past years that I have become chubbier each year and each year I am anxious to look at myself in the mirror and see a completely different person than I once was during college days. Thin, sturdy and healthy person.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3910.jpg
2. Be More Fit – I will regularize my exercise habits. Jog more often, stretch some muscles, and play more lawn Tennis. I should engaged into a sport where I can sweat more and burn more calories. I aim to restore the body I used to have back when I was very active to full contact sports and lawn tennis. I missed my abs, my biceps, and my sturdy body.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3911.jpg
3. Be more time conscious – Time is money; a second loss, is a loss of money. Be more time conscious and be early on scheduled meetings and get together. Anticipate traffic and allocate extra time for travelling. Time is the most precious gift you can give to someone.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_0260.jpg
4. Travel More Often – Yes it is a fact that traveling costs a lot of money, and unless you are earning more than what you need you can travel as much as you want. But for me, being an average person earning an average monthly paycheck travelling is big a deal for me. I believe that travelling is a very essential part of living, It is what lets you experience and learned things that not taught in the four corner of the classroom. It teaches you to be wise, it enables you to do the things you never done before and it opens your eyes to endless possibilities. I resolve to continue what I started two years ago, Travelling to places I never been to before and exploring my country. Travelling aboard is on my list too, But I guess it would have to wait. I haven’t been able to travel half of the island of the Philippines, I still have a long way to travel.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3923.jpg
5. Less Coffee, More Green Tea – In connection to being more fit, as much as possible I will decrease my caffeine in take and be more fond of drinking tea instead. Although they both have good benefits, according to the articles I read. But I would prefer tea over coffee for some personal reasons, and as per articles tea have more benefits that relates to being more fit and healthy. Since being more fit and healthy are the top two in my list, it is just right to choose tea.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3922.jpg
6. Quit Smoking – last year I was almost successful on quitting smoking, for almost three months I survived not lighting a single-stick of cigarette then some circumstances revealed itself, and I got tempted to have a puff, one more puff, some more puff, and more, that’s when I got back to square one. Although I am not a chain smoker, I’m not even a daily smoker. But when I smoke specially when I’m hanging out with friends I tend to smoke a lot. Like “a lot” a lot. And so for this year, I will try my best to really lessen, if I can’t stop my smoking habit. But it would be very fulfilling if I can totally stop smoking, though.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3924-1.jpg
7. Drink Less Alcoholic Beverages – you know I’d like to put “stop drinking alcoholic beverages” but who Am I kidding. I’m being realistic here, you can’t stop things like that. There are lots of reasons why we should drink every now and then, evidently it defeats the idea of stop drinking. It is a very good way of socializing, closing deals, meeting new acquaintances, drowning your sorrows and problems, most importantly I think when you get drunk, like wasted drunk – it brings out the honestly in you, like you can cry your heart out. And you really don’t care coz you’re having a good time and nobody can take that away from. Yes there’s a lot of cons to that, but there’s no harm in getting wasted once in a while. Hence, my 7th resolution, drink less.

8. Save More, Spend Less – Last year was rather a low year for me, in terms of savings. I had a lot of unwise spending and impulsive purchases, although it was all worth it I guess I could have been more wise and bought things that are more valuable. But enough of the “what could have & What If’s”, and so for 2015 and the years to come. I aim to be more wise in spending and purchasing things. To weigh the pros and cons of each purchase, and to really decide if I really need it, or is it just for luxury. This is in connection to my fourth resolution, in order for me to travel more I should have enough savings and budget to do so.

9. Be More Loving & Caring – I aim to be more loving, Caring, understanding, patient, giving, and to be always full of positive vibes to share.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3927.jpg
10. Be More Generous – The best feeling of happiness is when you’re happy because you’ve made somebody else happy. Nothing really beats the feeling of happiness you feel when ever you reach out and help someone. This year and to the years to come, I aim to help more people; give food to those who are hungry, clothes to those who have nothing to wear, or even the simplest act of kindness can go along way. Just because I don’t have much, doesn’t mean I cannot help others in my own little way. I know I have touched some lives, and the feeling of fulfillment will forever linger.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3929.jpg
11. To Show Appreciation To The People Who Loves Me – One of the things that I will change this year is to be more appreciative of the people who surrounds and love me. To show them that I am aware that they exists and I am very grateful to be able to spend some time with them and share some memories together. I will be more transparent and tell them once in a while that I love them and that I care for them. I may not be very vocal and sometimes can get so insensitive and thoughtless, but I can be very emotional at times. I wish I can put into one single word and tell it to them, how happy I am for being a part of there lives, and them to mine.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3931.jpg
12. Have More Love, Faith & Hope – To be more faithful to our creator, to be forever thankful for the things that I have, the people that I’m with, for all the opportunities, the second chances, all the blessings, the challenges and hardships, for all the things that He made possible. For giving me another year to live and always believing in my potential. To Him that in spite of all my wrong doings, failures and sins; have always been there for me. Silently looking out for me and guiding me to the right path. To God almighty, who makes all things possible.

From Dogs Perspective : We Are There World

2015/01/img_3928-0.jpg
“Dogs have given us there absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made” – Roger Caras –/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3314.jpg All my life I’ve always been very familiar with dogs, they were all around our house all the time. Eventually, I’ve grown to love them, and in return they’ve always shown such loyalty. Growing up I can remember how they always go with my father when he goes to our rice farm and at night, they’re like the night-watcher, guarding the house and the family from unwelcome guests. Although sometimes, they could get very annoying. Barking and barking all the time, but you’ll get used to it eventually. Over those years, I could only remember one dog in particular his name was “Panther”. He was kinda brutal and protective, but he was an effective night-watcher and he was very close to my heart. He lived a long and fulfilling life I supposed. Sad thing was he died due to old age, but I had to move on. Years past and we’ve adopted a lot of dogs, they just come and go really. Not until I finished college when I found a perfect puppy his name is “Hamster”.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_32651.pngHe is originally owned by my sister’s friend – Rica. When I first met him he was that cute, little, short-tailed, brown puppy – about two months old. He was 6 inches small, he even fitted inside a tiny box. I spent the whole week with him in the city, everyday I would let him drink his milk, I tidied him and tucked him to bed every night. Week after, I took him home with me to my province, my family loved him! The time we spent together were all unforgettable, we would play all day, I fed him and at night he would settle on my tummy and sleep there. When I had to go back to the city, I left his custody to my parents./home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3274-0.jpg He’s been with the family for almost three years now and although we don’t spend more time together, we always have that special connection. Whenever I go home, he always welcomes me at our front gate, wiggling his tail, he’s always so excited to see me, always. I still play with him when I have time. Funny thing is, he’s kinda spoiled and he acts pretty abnormal compared to our other dogs. He’s very tame, he don’t try to wander when our gate was left open, and he likes to take bath a lot! Currently we have more or less six dogs in the province, guess my parents are very fond of adopting dogs.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3307-0.jpg Just recently I got myself a puppy for my 25th birthday. A big step for me as I know, looking over and taking care for a dog alone is too big a risk but I did it anyway. All for the love of dogs. So I bought myself a puppy from my colleague (Cynthia), sort of birthday present for myself. A pure breed Maltese, She’s four months old now, she’s covered with all white fur so I named her “Snow”. Sure did, taking care of her is quite a big responsibility. From taking her to the vet for the deworming shots, multivitamins, 5-in-1 shots for parvovirus, and anti-rabies. To walking her daily around the streets, and cleaning her mess. Not to mention providing her with the suitable food, milk, vitamins, dog accessories (toys, leash, clothes). But you know, at the end of the day when I come home from work she’s the first thing I look for some cuddle and I say to myself – “All the efforts paid off, and more”

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3318.jpg I’ll never get over my fondness for dogs and how cute and loyal they are. Indeed, dogs are man’s best friend.
Special shout-out to Rica for giving me Hamster and to Cynthia for Baby Snow.

You Only Live Once #YOLO : Make The Best Out Of It

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste, to experience the out most, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience” – Eleanor Roosevelt –

This quote has always kept me going, somehow her words seemed to linger in my mind. Living the moment and experiencing life to the fullest. Taking chances, exploring possibilities. Making the best out of every chances the life has to offer. Being fearless to try anything, anything at all.
IMG_3048.JPG
Having these thoughts I always make sure to grab ever opportunity that comes my way, no matter how hard and difficult it is. People may judge me and label me impulsive but I don’t care. This is my life, I won’t let anybody control it. I will collect as many memories I can collect, i will enrich myself with experience and train myself to be wise. When I get older, I don’t want to wonder what could have happened if I did this and that. I don’t want to look back to my younger years and ask myself, What if. I can only live one, and I intend to make the best out of it.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_3047.jpg
“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul” – William Ernest Henley –
True indeed, we are the once that are responsible for ourselves. What we will become is the sum of the choices and risks that we make in our lifetime. We are responsible to enrich ourselves with ideas, memories and experience that worth reminiscing when we get old and no longer capable of doing the things we used to do.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2015/01/img_2781.jpg

I may not be that organize and I don’t usually plan my next move, but what I am certain of is that I am always grateful to those chances that life presented me. Some don’t turned out great, some even failed and went straight to the drain, but I know that as I continue my path to life I gathered a lot of experience and memories that somehow made me wiser and wiser. Failure after failure I learned, and I became wiser within.

Live your life with such eagerness to experience and learn, only by then you can say you lived a life to the fullest.

Lawn Tennis : Memories From Childhood to College

Created a new YouTube channel for my travel videos – Girls On Global Adventures , Check it out! I post new videos weekly. I am currently traveling through Southeast Asia.

“I don’t know anything that builds the will to win better than competitive sports” – Richard M. Nixon, 37th US President

Back when I was a child (during weekends), I would wake up early and race with my friends to whoever comes first to our neighborhood’s tennis court. The reason – first three kids to arrive would become Ball boy/girl for the entire day’s match. In return, the players would compensate us for our service, we would sum it up and divide the amount equally to the three of us. After every set I would borrow the player’s racket and play with my fellow ball boy/girl. And that’s when I learned how to hit a ball or two.

IMG_3060-0.JPG

I can still recall how I used to argue with my fellow ball-kids to whoever can get the larger cut of the amount. (Kids really, we argue a lot). After every game though, we still end up friends. We would even rush to the nearby store and buy ourselves snacks. I guess that’s really the best thing about being kids, they argue a lot, some get to be bullied, but at the end of the day they still end up being friends. Kids are just so forgiving.

IMG_3059.JPG

And then I grew older, and the adolescence kicked in, so I stop doing the things I used to do. (Well you know, I am the only girl in that neighbor who pick up balls for the players, eventually it was awkward to run around the court.) And then there’s high school, I got tangled up with other sports. (Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Karate, etc.)

IMG_3061.JPG

College finally came and I got interested to lawn tennis once more (who wouldn’t, when the tennis court was just outside our classroom. For the entire 5 years of my college life I spent 1/4 of it playing tennis. Even when it’s 12 noon and the sun was on its peak. My classmates and I would play for hours. I played for the engineering Department during intramural, I was so blessed to be coached by my mentor and one of my college instructor. We see him as our second father when we’re out-of-town playing and representing the school. He’s been very supportive and understanding when it comes to practice and actual match. And even when I sucked literally on the match he always keeps my spirit up. It was so amazing how huge his faith in Me, in our team, in our ability.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3113-2.jpg

On my fourth year as an engineering student, our team qualified to play for the regional held in Bohol. It was kind of big deal since it was our first time to be able to play and represent the school. Although we didn’t win that time, I hold much pride for what we achieved that year. I thought that would be the highlight of my college days tennis career, a year after I proven myself wrong.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3114-0.jpg

On my last year as an engineering student and a senior tennis player, our team got qualified for the nationals. It was pretty awesome year for me. My college days almost over and everything’s falling unto its proper place.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3116-0.jpg

Whats great about the Nationals was that I had a week off from school and I was exempted from my exams and all, not to mention the team had to travel by plane to Manila for the competition. The Nationals took place in Ilagan, Isabela, Philippines – it is located on the right-most part of the Northern Luzon, facing the Pacific Ocean. To get there, we had to travel 12 straight hours by bus from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. Longest bus ride I ever had in my entire life, but never did I feel bored. I was captivated by the mountain-view, seeing the Sierra Madre Mountains in person was breathtaking (best bus ride ever).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3115.jpg

The highlight of the Nationals I must say was the experience, traveling to a completely unfamiliar place, the people I met, and the bonding. I made a lot of new friends and though the Region 7 delegates was composed of variety students from different universities in the Central Visayas, we showed great deal of team work and camaraderie. And no that’s not it, I also made a lot of friends from delegates from other region. Although, my team didn’t win during our matches, but the experience was all worth it. We didn’t win any medal, but we took home an award no one can take away from us – Memories… And oh, when I graduated my bachelor’s degree I was awarded ” Athlete of the Year”. Pretty awesome way to put an end to my college life.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/1cf/80396601/files/2014/12/img_3118-0.jpg

Three years after, I am still in contact with those people I met during the Nationals, I know we’ll see each other again sooner or later,

Special shout-out to : Ton2, Stephanie, Rem Pasaol, Leonor, Roxanne, Aileen, Anjalieca Tan, Reyshell Alayacyac, Sir Edgardo Ceniza Sr., to the players from Bohol (BISU) and CNU, and all the people I failed to mention,  Thank you so much for the memories!!

Exploring Underwater World In Just One Breathe

“Yes I Live it. The sea is everything. It covers seven-tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert where man is never alone for he feels life. Quivering around him in every side. There is supreme tranquility. The sea does not belong to despots. On its surface iniquitous rights can still be exercised, men can fight there. Devour each other there, and transport all terrestrial horrors there. But at thirty feet below its level their power ceases. Their influences dies out, their might disappears.

I can say I am lucky to be living in a city where the beach is just a ride away. Whenever I have time, my cousin and I would prep our snorkeling gears and hit the road. I never get tired of doing it, in fact I am always excited… ALWAYs!!! The beach – or the sea in general gives me a kind of energy that I can’t explain. There’s no boring moments in the beach!

IMG_0915-0.PNG © The Bucket List

I know exactly why I love free diving; for one it gives me a satisfying feeling – of knowing that I am conserving every bit of oxygen in my system just to stay under water for as long as I could. I can barely stay longer but couple more tries and I know I’ll get there soon. Second – is that knowledge of being one with the sea, I am all alone, I can relax my mind and focus to what is in front of me – the water world. Third, is that it gives me the opportunity to explore what is beneath the clear blue water. I get to discover the beauty of God’s creation. Forth is the thrill – of not knowing what Sea creature will I encounter next. May it be an ordinary fish, a clown or even a lion fish. If you’re lucky enough you may get see sea turtles. That is actually one of the main reason why I love free diving that much. The sea offers a lot of surprising things, things I never thought I’d be able to see. It is full of endless possibilities.

IMG_1719.JPG At the end of every beach day, I would look back to the day’s activity and admire myself! God! I’m that brave. FYI, I don’t swim that good, in fact I really don’t know how to swim. If not for the fins, i would never dare to go 7ft – 8ft water deep. But see, I’ve conquered my fear over & over again. That’s how big a risk I get into, every time I free dive. But with the right companion and a bucket full of determination, everything is possible. You just have to have faith to yourself. We can all conquer our fear!!!
